PRODUCTIVITY TIPThis week, we want to share a productivity/life tip with you that we are constantly reminding ourselves of. When you have a new idea, a new opportunity, or a new challenge, do not think about the so many 'what-if's' attached to it.What if it doesn't work? What if they turn me down? What if they laugh at me?Instead, remember this: The greats didn't say 'what if.'If they did, they said it once and they quickly returned their focus back to this simple fact.People are good, and they want to help you. They especially want to help you if they can see your passion in whatever you are chasing. So get out there, start cold calling, start trying, and rely on the goodness of others to embrace your new ideas and ambitions. And check out this article in case you still have doubts.WHAT'S IN OUR JOURNALThis week our team was heads down focusing on our new website! We are hoping to launch this website in just a couple of weeks and can not wait for you all to see it. The new website will include new pages, new images, more stories, and so much more! Productivity tipWe have all experienced the "end of vacation blues". Getting back into our work schedule and daily routine after a few days off is always a challenge. With Labor Day coming up, we have a few tips on how you can get back into the swing of things after a few days off.1. Start your work day 30 minutes earlier than usual for the first few days. Use this time to catch up on emails and prioritize the work you might have missed.2. Make sure your first day back isn't packed with meetings. Try to ease your way back into your routine and give yourself the time you need to catch up.3. Plan your next vacation! We all need a few days to unplug and relax. Figure out where you would like to go next. What's in our journalAt The Scribes, we are always looking for new and creative ways to market our business. One way to do so is by partnering with newsletters with a similar audience of your current customer base. We've really enjoyed working with Peloton Magazine and For The Interested, two different content platforms that just so happen to have a rather similar audience to ours. If you don't already subscribe to their newsletters, go check them out.If you have any newsletters that you believe align with The Scribes, feel free to send them our way!Talk to you next week!- Mike, Pooja, Alden

Productivity tipMeasure ItMeasure your productivity. This can be done in numerous different ways. You can log your hours, download productivity trackers, or follow your productivity in your journal each day.By tracking your productivity each day, you can notice any trends that may appear. For example, you might notice that you tend to be the most productive on days in which you workout in the morning. What's in our journalDon't be fixated on what you think is going to work, but instead, try something new and you might be surprised. When we launched The Quill, we figured that this would be an add on-product and help us increase our average order value, but we didn't think it would be significant.Fast forward and The Quill has been our top seller this month across all of our products. We are so excited about its performance that we'll be bringing on a few more colors and re-fills based on customer feedback!Talk to you next week!- Mike, Pooja, Alden

Productivity tipBe transparent.Transparency results in authenticity and authenticity results in trust. You'll be more productive if you trust those who you work with, and they'll be more productive if they can trust you. What's in our journalWhen we started Sunday w/ The Scribes, we wanted to provide our customers a look into what we're working on, the obstacles we've encountered and what we've learned along the way. This week, we are getting back to the roots of this newsletter by discussing a major part of our business.Fulfillment takes a village. We handle fulfillment ourselves, and we are proud of that. However, by personally inspecting, packaging, and shipping each order ourselves, we've spent many late nights prepping orders, only to find out that we didn't have the inventory, the right packaging, or our printer was out of ink. Top that with everyone working from different / unusual locations (cough, cough, our parents houses), and it's easy to see how we've run into some real complications. With that said, working from different locations has also been quite rewarding. Our parents and siblings have been called on to help when we get desperate, and we want to thank them for their share of prepping, packing, and post-office drop offs.As our volume continues to increase, we might consider working with a third party fulfillment partner, but until then, we hope you enjoy the personal touch added to each and every order.Talk to you next week!- Mike, Pooja, Alden

But for those of you who feel like you've lost a sense of routine and consistency, especially in the mornings, keep reading. This short article will shed some light on what successful people do in the morning, and how their morning routines keep them centered, focused, and productive. What's in our journalA few months ago, we launched a new version of The Crosby Scribe. Productivity tipPlan for tomorrow, tonight. Before you go to sleep at night, take five minutes to write out tomorrow's to-do list. Doing so will tie up the loose ends of today and relieve anxiety that you might feel in the morning.Try it tonight and feel better about your Monday morning. What's in our journalThe Original ScribeWhen The Original Scribe hit the market as our first product in November 2019, the product was a result of our experiences, ideas, and preferences.Over the past 7 or 8 months, we've sold out of The (Original) Original Scribes, and instead of producing the same batch over again, we asked our customers for help in designing The Original Scribe 2.0.The feedback we received made way for a much better product. Not only does the new Original Scribe come in two colors, but we've increased the page count by 33% and upgraded our interior paper quality to 100 g.s.m. acid-free paper. We also changed the layout of the journal, making the left-side lined and the right-side blank. Not only does this more closely align with how our brains work, but it also makes it easier to use for our left-handed friends. We hope you check out the new and improved Original Scribe and let us know what you think!Talk to you next week!- Mike, Pooja, Alden
